Trinsic and Indicio Partner to Empower Enterprise Teams

Trinsic and Indicio.tech (Indicio), a professional services provider for decentralized identity, are partnering to ensure that the Indicio Network is accessible to all developers of self-sovereign identity (SSI) solutions. As a result of this partnership, the Trinsic platform now supports the Indicio Network in both Trinsic Studio and the Trinsic Wallet. In addition, Indicio is now providing implementation services and expert training to its clients that wish to leverage the advanced capabilities of the Trinsic platform.

The hundreds of developers using Trinsic to issue verifiable credentials now have additional flexibility of the network they want to base their solution on. In addition, issuers and verifiers already using the Indicio Network may now recommend the popular Trinsic Wallet to their credential holders.

“Trinsic and Indicio are natural partners,” said Riley Hughes, CEO of Trinsic. “The Indicio team provides world-class professional services, and we provide the world’s most advanced SSI platform. Enterprise teams that combine both expert services and a powerful platform will be well-suited to build the SSI solutions they need to succeed in the market.”

The Indicio Network

The Indicio Network is a concierge-class decentralized identity network that supports the exchange of verifiable credentials. Developed and maintained by some of the most experienced architects in the SSI space, the Indicio Network provides developers with a stable and reliable environment to build, test, and demo their SSI solutions.

“We’re pleased to expand accessibility of the Indicio Network to the large community of developers who use the Trinsic platform,” said Heather Dahl, CEO of Indicio. “We’ve always focused on doing the best thing for our clients, whether they want to build their own solution, use open source code, or leverage an existing platform like Trinsic. This partnership solidifies that commitment and our ability to reimagine identity for our clients.”

Similar to other leading SSI networks, the Indicio Network is based on the open source SSI codebase of Hyperledger Indy. The network is based on the most recent SSI standards which enables the interoperability of SSI products across different networks.

Other resources to help you get started

Trinsic has a myriad of resources to assist developers in building their solutions.

  • Build a web portal for issuing credentials with the Trinsic Issuer Reference App.
  • Create hundreds of issuer agents on the Indicio TestNet using the Trinsic Provider API. See the Provider Reference App for an example of how you can get started.
  • Want to integrate workflows between the Indicio Network and 2,000+ other SaaS apps? See our native Zapier integration and build integrations with Slack, Office 365, GSuite, and other applications you use every day.

The role of decentralized networks in SSI

In verifiable credential exchange, a decentralized network (also referred to as a ledger or a blockchain) primarily acts as a decentralized public key infrastructure (DPKI) for identifying who issued a particular credential. For example, if an issuer is provisioned on the Indicio Network, the authenticity of credentials created by that issuer can be verified by looking up the issuer’s DID on the Indicio Network. For more information on issuer DIDs, see our documentation.

In addition to the Indicio Network, the Trinsic platform currently supports organizations being provisioned on the Sovrin Network, Sovrin’s test networks, and the BCovrin Test Network. We plan on adding support for additional networks in the near future and will continue to do so as more decentralized identity networks emerge.
